![]() If you have a lot of action groups and don’t want to navigate through the menus or simply want to apply the last used action to a new set of files, this new feature becomes handy. Repeat allows for, well, repeating the last action or action group. It can prove helpful if you need to inspect and compare the effects of specific operations or when you simply realize that the thing you’ve just undid was actually exactly what you wanted. The new Redo menu and toolbar item allows for redoing the last undone operation. The Web Sources Framework got many new JSON-related functions, which should make developing JSON-based Tag Sources a breeze (or at least more like that). The focus was clearly on Tag Sources with this release. More JSON-related functions for Web Sources Framework I’ve also added a new Type-selector, which now lists the different supported field types Text, Check, and Multiline. This can be useful for certain fields where the only valid input is 1, e.g., for COMPILATION and PODCAST. It’s now possible to define checkbox fields to the Tag Panel. ![]() I’ve added lots of documentation to get you started. This means no more manual editing of Tag Sources, which was both tedious to keep updated and prone to errors. It allows Tag Sources Developers to define configuration settings for their Tag Sources, which, in turn, are used by Mp3tag to both generate a configuration dialog and in the Tag Source itself. ![]() I’ve updated the external library libwebp used by Mp3tag to version 1.3.2, which includes a security fix for lossless decoder (CVE-2023-4863). I’ve also added various improvements to the Web Sources Framework, something you will most likely notice only indirectly, by using one of the Tag Sources that makes use of the new features and fixes. There is always the option to increase the text and layout scaling in Windows, but I think having a slightly larger default font plays very well with this setting. ![]() Some users had difficulty seeing the texts and labels and it was one of the more common feedback. I’ve modernized various dialogs and increased the default font size in all dialogs and windows. Modernized Dialogs and Larger Default Font Please see the Changelog for a complete list. : / ? * etc. Here, I describe new features and noteworthy changes. So you can't use characters in Action Group titles that would be invalid in a file name. Updated to describe how to create a new Action Group.Īlso, I forgot to mention that Mp3tag uses the Action Group title for the configuration file that stores its actions. You'll never tag faster than once you've committed those shortcuts to muscle memory. This way you could make different versions of the same action for each of the different date formats your albums use and access each one with a different number. Month-Date-Year, and then run it by pressing Alt+A, D, 1. (The Alt+A is Mp3tag's built-in key for the Actions menu)Īn even-less-documented feature is that you can include a hash symbol to group commands into sub-menus.Ĭall the same action #Format Album &Date#&1. So you could call your action Format Album &Date for example, and then run it by pressing Alt+A, D. If you include an ampersand in your action title, that becomes the keyboard shortcut to run that command. Īnother great time-saver in Mp3tag is a not-so-documented feature for keyboard access. Load the tracks from your album into Mp3tag, run that one action, and they will all have their Date field set to. Putting all that together as a single Action in Mp3tag will result in this: Then we use the Format value command again to set the date using our newly formatted values:įormat string: %TempYear%-%TempMonth%-%TempDate%įinally use the Remove fields commands to delete the temporary fields we used to construct the date:įields to remove: TempYear TempMonth TempDate Mp3tag has a $Num function that can be used to pad digits with a specified number of zeroes so we can use that for the month and date:įormat string: $Num(%TempMonth%,2) Field: TEMPDATE (You'd need to update the 22 in that formula each year to keep it current) We can use some the same command with some other functions to prepend the century to years that only have two digits.Īs an added bonus we can check the value of two-digit years to set it to the correct century.įormat string: $If($Eql($Len(%TempYear%),2),$IfGreater(%TempYear%,22,19%TempYear%,20%TempYear%),%TempYear%) We can use this three times to pick out the parts of the date and save them for later.įormat string: $RegExp(%Album%,'(\d) (.*)','$2') In Mp3tag, the command Format value assigns a value to a field (i.e.
